The MGC is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. All programs and activities are supported by membership dues and revenue-producing initiatives.
Monroe Garden Club members Marion Zentner and Debbie Stockstill co-chaired the club's Annual Spring Luncheon hostess committee. Working with them were Loura Barr, Peggy Cannon, Courtney Curry, Gretchen Dean, Anne Erskine, Ellie John, Pat Jordan, Janet Masur, Daphen McLeod, Dana Taliaferro, Marianne Wilcox, and Regina Wood. Together they transformed the luncheon space into a delightful riot of Blackeyed Susans --- a fitting tribute indeed to outgoing president, Susan Miksa.

MGC President 2009-2010
The following is the address at the Annual Spring Luncheon that Sharen gave after her installation as MGC President 2009-2010:
Good afternoon ladies,
I would like to welcome everyone especially all new members and I hope your membership will be as enjoyable as mine has.
First, I would like to thank Susan Miksa for her friendliness, open-hearted personality, and expertise they have been invaluable to me this past year as your President Elect. She is a wonderful asset to The Monroe Garden Club and I am sure I will call upon her from time to time.
I am extremely honored to have been selected as your President of The Monroe Garden Club and accept the responsibilities that you have entrusted in me.
As we plan and implement our New Year events, we will remember the beautiful garden that appeals to all our senses, whatever your special garden may be.
It is our responsibility to cherish our traditions and preserve our environment. I encourage you to participate and become very active so that you too may blossom and grow. This will be the 76th year the Monroe Garden Club has been in existence. You are the future.
Let me assure you that during the next year I will be guarded by no other principles than those of the Bible and our Constitution and Bylaws.
So, I hope that I will see you all at our meetings and special events.
I have left a survey for everyone to complete and return to me for your help with our future planning.
I will close with a quote from Dale Carnegie: “People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.”
Thank you.
Sharen Haddad
