In her final address to the membership as president, outgoing President Sharen Haddad thanked her executive committee, the club's project committees, and the membership at large for their support and encouragement throughout her tenure.
"When I selected 'Joy and Friendship in the Garden' as my theme for this year, " Haddad told the gathering, "I could not have known then what great joy would come to me through new friendships formed and old friendships strengthened. In the end, that is the very best thing about the Monroe Garden Club --- getting to know women worth knowing --- women committed to beautification, of course, but also committed to the importance of lasting friendships.”
